Heavy rains to continue in Kerala for next 5 days

Thiruvananthapuram: Extremely heavy rain will batter Kerala in the next five days as monsoon intensified across the state, alerted the Indian Meterological Department.

Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea from Tuesday (July 12) to Friday (July 15).

Strong wind with speed reaching 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph is likely to prevail over Kerala coast, reads the IMD alert.

Fishermen and residents in coastal areas are advised to exercise extreme caution. Boats should be kept safe in the harbour. The IMD also asked the public to completely avoid visiting beaches and venturing into the sea.
