Heavy rains likely in Kerala: Yellow alert in 6 districts on Monday

Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department predicted that heavy rains will batter Kerala on Monday. As per the latest forecast, heavy rains are likely at isolated places in all districts across the state in the next three hours.

The IMD has sounded a yellow alert in Idukki, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod on Monday in view of the chances of heavy rains.
Heavy rainfall from 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm is expected in these districts.

The Kerala Disaster Management Authority has alerted the people living in hilly ranges to exercise extreme caution.

Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea along and off the Kerala-Karnataka coast. There is no restriction on fishing on the Lakshadweep coast.

KSDMA has also issued lightning alert at isolated places across the state till Tuesday.
