Heavy rain predicted in Kerala; yellow alert in various districts

As gusty wind and rain is predicted, people dwelling in landslide prone areas and river banks should stay alert.

Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department informed that heavy rain is likely to lash the state till June 7. Following this, yellow alert has ben sounded in various districts on different days.

June 4 - Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Kozhikode, Kannur, Kasaragod
June 5 - Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Kannur
June 6 - Kollam, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur
June 7 - Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur

Heavy rain gauging from 64.5-115.5 millimeter is predicted in isolated places within 24 hours.

As gusty wind and rain is predicted, people dwelling in landslide prone areas and river banks should stay alert.

The State Disaster Management Authority informed that the people living in coastal areas also should be cautious as rough sea is likely in such places.
