Heavy rain likely on Thursday; Yellow alert at 8 districts
Thiruvananthapuram: The meteorological centre has warned that heavy rain is likely to occur in some places of Kerala on Thursday. The state will receive 20 cm rainfall within 24 hours. Following this, heavy downpour is likely to occur in many places till September 30.
A yellow alert has been issued at Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Wayanad districts due to the chances for downpour. In Idukki, the yellow alert will exist till September 30 as heavy rain alert is issued for the district from September 28 to 30.
Apart from Idukki, heavy rain is likely to lash Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Palakkad, and Wayanad on September 28. It is reported that heavy rain will occur in Ernakulam, Kozhikode and Wayanad on September 29 and Pathanamthitta, Malappuram and Kozhikode on September 30.
