Thiruvananthapuram: Heavy rainfall is likely to hit the state for the next three days, predicted India Meteorological Department (IMD). Following this, orange and yellow alert were issued in various districts from Saturday to Monday.
Kottayam and Idukki districts are placed under orange alert on September 19, Saturday.
IMD issued orange alert in Ernakulam, Idukki, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad districts on September 20, Sunday. Idukki, Palakkad,Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad districts will continue to remain under orange alert on September 21, Monday.
IMD predicted very heavy rainfall in isolated places in Kerala in coming days. Very heavy rain alert indicates that the state will receive rainfall between 115.6 mm to 204.4 mm.

Heavy rainfall gauging from 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm in 24 hours is predicted in isolated places.
Kerala State Disaster Management Authority alerted the public to stay vigilant in view of flooding in urban areas and low-lying areas. KSDMA advised the authority and public to take necessary precautions to avoid danger from rain havoc.
