Kozhikode: The meteorological centre has predicted heavy rain in the northern districts of Kerala on Monday. Following this, Orange alert has been sounded in five districts.
The orange alert was issued in Malappuram, Wayanad, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod districts on Monday.
Road traffic was disrupted on the Kozhikode-Wayanad national highway on Sunday night due to waterlogging in Engapuzha area. Traffic was restored after several hours of effort.
Rainfall continued in many parts of Wayanad. Malappuram, Kannur and Kozhikode districts also experienced heavy rain.
