Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala is experiencing heavy rainfall in various regions, accompanied by strong thunderstorms. The India Meteorological Department has predicted that the heavy rain will persist in the coming days, with chances of isolated showers.

An alert has been issued for hilly areas, cautioning residents about potential risks.

A yellow alert was announced in Idukki on Tuesday.

On Monday, several areas across the state reported damages due to the heavy rain. The hilly region of Kozhikode witnessed particularly heavy rainfall, leading to the washing away of a temporary bridge at Punnakkal in Thiruvambady caused by the overflowing stream.
