Thiruvananthapuram: The Health Ministry has ordered strict action on the complaint received over stale fish sold in Nedumkandam in Idukki. There have been reported cases of stomach ache among people and deaths in cats after consuming the fish. Health Minister Veena George has instructed Food Safety Commissioner to conduct an investigation into the matter and asked for stringent measures to be adopted.
As per the minister’s order, the Food safety department officials will arrive at the place on Saturday and collect samples after a thorough inspection.
The minister said that using any kind of adulterants to prevent fish from decaying will be strictly dealt with.
