Health dept readies action plan to check Covid `super spread' in TVM
Thiruvananthapuram: With the number of Covid cases increasing considerably in the district through contact, the health department convened a high level meeting under Health Minister K K Shailaja and prepared an action plan to check the `super spread' as instructed by Chief Minister.
After the meeting, Health Minister said that action will be initiated in Poonthura areas, where super spread is confirmed, as a special cluster.
New guidelines have been issued to identify the patients quickly and quarantine their contacts. Testing also will be widened.
Everyone has been strictly asked to obey quarantine norms. Meetings will be held every day to review the situation and measures taken to create awareness, the Minister said.
Tamil Nadu is deep on the clutches of coronavirus. Many from there reach the state capital for various needs including treatment. People arriving from other places results in virus spread. Special OP will be opened in hospitals for those coming from outside borders, she added.
The minister also pointed out the importance of reverse quarantine for critically ill people, pregnant women, elderly and children. They shouldn’t go outdoors. Any lapses in these instructions will lead to highly serious situation. Everyone should obey the guidelines issued by health department and remain indoors and be safe, she further added.
