HC rejects plea questioning constitutional validity of masala bond


The petition filed by chartered accountant M. R. Ranjith hailing from Thiruvananthapuram was rejected by the bench headed by Chief Justice Hrishikesh Roy.

Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Wednesday rejected a petition filed questioning the constitutional validity of masala bond. The petition filed by chartered accountant M. R. Ranjith hailing from Thiruvananthapuram was rejected by the bench headed by Chief Justice Hrishikesh Roy.

Adv. Mathew Kuzhalnadan who appeared for the petitioner argued that the amendment of the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Act was illegal.

The court said that this argument is baseless and rejected the petition. Special government pleader (Tax) C. E. Unnikrishnan appeared for the government.
