Kochi: The Kerala High Court here on Tuesday has dismissed a PIL questioning the removal of ADGP S Sreejith from the Crime Branch and the investigation into the actress attack case of 2017. The court viewed that they could not intervene in the state government's decisions. The appointment and transfer of IAS and IPS officials fall under the purview of the state government. The court cannot intervene on these matters, a bench headed by Chief Justice added.

The Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed by Biju Kottarakara challenging the government's decision to remove ADGP S Sreejith from his role as the investigation officer in the actress attack case. He alleged in the petition that the transfer of ADGP will likely affect the investigation into the case.

Meanwhile, the trial court is considering a petition demanding the cancellation of bail granted to Dileep. The actor's lawyer pointed out that it was not ideal to continue the investigation based on the statement given by Director Balachandrakumar.

The trial court said that they were not informed about the arrest of Sarath, the 15th accused in the case. Earlier, his arrest was recorded before the Angamali Magistrate court.

The trial court stated that they were not notified about this development.
