HC dismisses PIL demanding CBI probe into tree felling case

Kochi: The Kerala high court dismissed the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed demanding CBI probe into Muttil tree felling case.

The government informed the high court that the case is being investigated efficiently. Accepting this, the bench headed by Chief Justice rejected the demand for CBI probe.

Two types of probes are progressing into the case, one under the leadership of Crime Branch and another one under the leadership of forest department. Both are progressing effectively.

The CBI is unable to take over the case legally, the state government informed the high court. Following this, the high court rejected the PIL demanding for CBI probe.
