Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Wednesday dismissed the petition of actor Dileep seeking CBI probe into the actress abduction and attack case. A division bench of the High Court noted that the petition will be considered after Supreme Court pronounces its verdict in another plea in the case.
Dileep, who is an accused in the case, argued that he will be acquitted of all charges if CBI probes the case. Dileep’s lawyer informed the court that he is not satisfied with the police probe. He also complained that media has been haunting Dileep and asserted that the actor is innocent.
Meanwhile, the court observed that media attention on Dileep is natural as he is a celebrity.
“As he is a celebrity he is surrounded by media and not because he is an accused in the case. It is natural in a celebrity’s life,” said the division bench.
Earlier also, the single bench of the High Court dismissed Dileep’s plea for a CBI probe. Following this the actor approached the division bench of the court with the petition.
