Kochi: Kerala High Court on Tuesday cancelled the bail granted to SFI Ernakulam district president PM Arsho in connection with a murder attempt case. Justice Sunil Thomas revoked the bail after observing that Arsho was involved in 12 cases during the bail period. Further, the court also directed the police officials to arrest him.
While considering a petition seeking cancellation of the SFI leader's bail, the court examined that the young leader had a misconception that political activity means getting involved in criminal cases. The court also directed the police to register his arrest in all the existing cases against him at various stations.
The court nullified the bail which was granted on March 20, 2019. Following this, the court also asked the DGP to carry out an inquiry on a report submitted by the police before the court in favour of the accused. In the report, police claimed that Arsho has no criminal background.
Meanwhile, Ernakulam ACP informed that 10 cases were registered against Arsho during his bail period. However, 35 cases were registered in Ernakulam Central Police Station alone.
