HC asks Centre to inform when they can give vaccine doses to Kerala; demands reply by May 21
Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Friday asked the Centre to inform when they can deliver the COVID vaccine share of Kerala. The court directed the centre to respond on this matter by May 21. The High Court directed this while considering a petition which demanded to clear doubts over vaccine supply.
Earlier, the High Court had directed the centre to clear its stance on vaccine supply to Kerala on May 14. Following this, the central government informed the Kerala High Court that the vaccine supply is not under their direct control and a high-level committee appointed by the supreme court is in charge of it.
Meanwhile, the court observed that COVID cases are increasing in Kerala day by day. The court pointed out that the centre should consider the present situation in the state.
Ottappalam native TP Prabhakaran approached the court requesting to disclose the vaccine stock that is currently available. The petitioner also appealed to the court to prepare a supply calendar for the vaccination drive. The court will consider the plea again next Friday.
