Hate speech: 2 cases registered against K P Sasikala
Kozhikode: The police have registered two separate cases against Hindu Aikya Vedi leader K P Sasikala over alleged hate speeches.
She has been booked under IPC 153 by Paravur police over complaints filed by Congress MLA V D Satheesan and DYFI for her alleged hate speech made in Paravur on Saturday. In her speech, she had warned ‘secular’ writers to perform ‘Mrityunjaya Homam’ to save their own lives. Sasikala had clarified that she was referring to the alleged ‘threat’ faced by writers from the Congress.
However, the police received legal opinion that case can be registered over the matter.
Meanwhile, Kozhikode Kasaba police registered another case against Sasikala for the hate speech made in 2006 at Muthalakkulam in Kozhikode. The complaint is that her speech, relating to the Maradu violence, disrupted communal harmony.
The complaint regarding the 2006 speech was first filed with Kasaragod police but was handed over to Kasaba police since the speech was held in Kozhikode. Sasikala had moved the High Court against arrest.
