Kozhikode: BJP State President K Surendran slammed the Home Department in the state for not taking appropriate measures to counter violence in the hartal announced by the Popular Front. Surendran alleged that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is condoning the Popular Front for their help in recent elections in the state.
Meanwhile, incidents of violence, including stone pelting and attacks on police officials, were reported in various parts of the state.

"The situation in Alappuzha, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kannur, Kozhikode, and Ernakulam remains serious. In Kottayam, devotees heading to Mookambika were attacked. They are trying to instigate violence and create communal riots. Several shops in Balaramapuram were attacked. The Popular Front is targeting a particular community and their shops. Since last night, the rioters are wreaking havoc in the streets," said K Surendran.

Surendran added that several KSRTC buses were destroyed in many parts of the state. Criticising the police, he stated the force stands as a mute spectator.

"Along with the shame of being the state that has arrested the highest number of terrorists in India, Kerala has been reduced to a state where terrorists are free to forcefully close shops and block roads. This made it clear that the people of Kerala are not safe. The government's administrative failure and vote bank politics have created an opportunity for the terrorists to escape," he slammed the govt.
