Idukki: Two Haritha Karma Sena (HKS) members of ward 16 of Vannappuram in Idukki, Reena Saji and Ancy Johnson, are in the spotlight and are being praised for their sincerity and good work.
The duo had spotted a gold ring and ear ring amidst the waste while they were sorting plastic waste collected from various houses. They had collected the waste on February 26 and found the gold while examining the materials on March 7.
Following which, they informed panchayat member Jagadamma Vijayan. She later shared the news on the official WhatsApp group of the ward and the owner was identified soon.
Apparently, the gold ornaments unknowingly got mixed with the plastic waste. The gold was handed over to the owner in the presence of panchayat president MA Biju.
