Kannur: According to police, Reshma Prashant was aware that Nijildas was accused in the murder of CPM activist Haridasan in Pinarayi. Police claimed that she provided shelter despite knowing about it. Meantime, police strengthened security for Reshma after reports of death threats emerged.
The police approached the court demanding cancelling bail to Reshma. The police requested permission from the court to take her into custody for further questioning.
Meanwhile, the Thalassery first class magistrate court remanded Nijildas (38) until May 6. He is the 14th accused in the case. Reshma is the 15th accused in the case. On Saturday, she revealed that she had known Nijildas for the past one year.
Earlier, Reshma's lawyer alleged that her arrest was part of a fabricated case. The lawyer claimed that Reshma was not the house owner and Nijildas was not involved in any case when he had stayed there.
