Thiruvananthapuram: Reports have emerged that Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan is closely observing the way Kerala government is handling the Opposition protests over Gold Smuggling Case.

It is learnt that governor’s official residence Raj Bhavan has been reviewing the situation and is of the opinion that there were lapses from the intelligence wing. One of the major accusation is that police officials are becoming mere spectators when CPM and Congress workers are involved in conflict. There are speculations that the Governor will seek a report over the happenings.

It may be noted that the protests are escalating and the protesters had even managed to get into the flight of CM in spite of the heightened security. The governor is likely to intervene.

Meanwhile, the equation between the state government and the governor during Pinarayi Vijayan regime has gone through aberrations and tussles. The development comes as a continuation of it.
