Kondotty (Malappuram): The Haj Committee of India directed that those who applied for participating in the Haj need to take the first dose of Covid vaccine. This instruction was issued as Saudi Arabia made it mandatory that people should take two doses of Covid vaccine before entering the country to take part in Haj this year.
However, no official declaration was issued by the Saudi government regarding the Haj pilgrimage in 2021. When permission is granted for Haj, only those who received two doses of vaccine at the right intervals will be considered.
The first Haj special flight will take off from India by the middle of June. So, all people who applied for Haj should get the first dose of Covid vaccine from the health centres in their native places, the State Haj Committee directed.
The chairman of the Haj Committee requested the state government to provide Covid vaccine to the Haj applicants at the right time. For more details, the applicants should contact Haj Committee or trainers. Phone: 0483 2710717, 0495 2938786.
