Had treated Rajkumar at police station, reveals ayurveda practitioner
Nedumkandam: It has been confirmed that Rajkumar, who had died in police custody in here, was examined by a vaidya (Ayurveda practitioner). Thookkupalam native vaidya revealed that he had examined Rajkumar, who was in illegal police custody then, on June 13 evening at the station. He also told Mathrubhumi News that he was paid Rs 500 for it.
Third accused in the case, police driver Niyas had brought him to the station at around 3 pm on June 13. Rajkumar who was in lockup was unable even to stand up. Police had said that he was injured after falling down.
“There were injuries on Rajkumar’s knee. I put medicine on the injury and tied it up. ‘Murivenna’ was bought from the vaidyasala near the police station and it was heated at the police canteen,” vaidya said.
The probe team will soon record the statements of the Ayurveda practitioner.
