Guruvayur visit controversy: CPM State committee slams Kadakampally
Thiruvananthapuram: CPM State Committee criticised Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran after his controversial visit to Guruvayur temple.
CPM State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan presented a report on the controversy in the state committee meeting held on Friday. Kodiyeri said that Kadakampally’s visit and offerings at the temple triggered the controversy.
Meanwhile, the State committee members at the meeting observed that Kadakampally was not thoughtful on the visit.
They further recommended Kadakampally to follow the role models of the former party ministers, who hold the Devaswom portfolio.
Kadakampally admitted that he was not cautious about his visit to the temple.
Kadakampally’s visit to Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple on Ashtami Rohini day triggered controversy after the CPM leadership demanded an explanation.
Being the Devaswom minister, there is nothing wrong in his visit to the temple. But he should have exercised more caution, the committee pointed out.
