Guruvayur: Astrologer Kanippayyur Narayanan Namboodiripad opined that celebrating Guruvayur Ekadasi on December 3 will be violation of the rituals. Though Kanippayyur suggested December 4 (Vrishchikam 18) as per Panchangam, Guruvayur devaswom has decided to conduct the festival on December 3.

Though Kanippayyur wrote a letter to devaswom informing his stand, the latter had not responded yet. The devaswom board has started preparations to conduct Ekadasi rituals and fixed dates for ‘Dvadasi’, ‘Trayodasi’ and commemoration of elephant Kesavan also.

Several other astrologers have also come up demanding to conduct Ekadasi rituals on December 4. By this, devotees are puzzled over the date to observe the auspicious day.

Meanwhile, Guruvayur devaswom board will convene a meeting on November 24 by summoning eminent astrologers here.
