Guests fall ill after consuming food at engagement function in Irinjalakuda

Irinjalakuda: An engagement function in Irinjalakuda resulted in 30 people falling ill due to food poisoning on May 1. The affected individuals were taken to different hospitals in Thrissur district.

Although everyone is now out of danger, some are still receiving treatment in hospital.

The health department and food safety department have launched a probe into the incident, and the catering company responsible for providing the food has temporarily closed. Officials are waiting for the laboratory results of the food sample before taking any further action.
