Thrissur: Inspiring many people who gave up their dreams, 60-year-old Gracy has joined Calicut University distance education centre at Kerala Varma College here. Gracy obtained admission to BA Sociology after securing 100 per cent marks in the Humanities stream in the Plus Two Equivalency Exam. She plans to take up law after securing her degree.

Hailing from Puranattukara in Thrissur, Gracy has managed to juggle her studies and life. After her husband left her, she survived by doing housework in other houses and by helping people to pay electricity and water bills.

Gracy's determination finally paid off after years of hardship. Her son Abhilash is a software developer. Her daughter Kavitha completed her MEd and has obtained a temporary job in Government Polytechnic College at Valappad.

Gracy earned her driving license four years back and has been chasing her dreams on her scooter ever since.
