Kozhikode: The Kerala Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, GR Anil, has taken to Facebook to dispel rumours circulating on social media about the Union Government taking over the state's Public Distribution System.

The minister stated that claims that non-priority (white) ration cardholders who do not make purchases by the end of this month will have their cards cancelled and that the Union Government will take over the ration distribution system from April 1 are baseless.

He further warned that legal action will be taken against those who spread false news. The Minister shared the image containing the said message which is predominantly spread on WhatsApp.
