Alappuzha: Officials who are sincerely taking action against the drug mafia are being transferred by the government, says former minister and veteran CPM leader G Sudhakaran. His criticism came in the backdrop of recent developments in drug smuggling case in Alappuzha.

Meanwhile, Sudhakaran also criticized the state health ministry. He alleged that the health department is transferring doctors from state-run institutes without finding suitable replacements. He remarked that an order to transfer a doctor should also mention the replacement.

Earlier, A Shanavas, accused in the drug smuggling case, alleged that G Sudhakaran, PP Chitharanjan and others tried to trap him in the case. He also alleged factionalism in the party leadership in the district.
