Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Health Minister Veena George said in the Assembly on Monday that the honorarium of ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers will be hiked soon.
At present, ASHA workers are provided with an honorarium of Rs 6,000. However, the state government is pressuring the Centre to increase the incentive received as central share.
The minister, in response to senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala’s submission, said, “There are a total of 26,448 ASHA workers in the state.”
