Govt sanctions Rs 41 cr for Ayyankali Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme
Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan informed that the state government has sanctioned Rs 41 crore for implementing Ayyankali Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme. The scheme aims to create employment opportunities in urban areas. CM made the major announcement while addressing a press meet here on Friday.
“82 municipalities will get benefited from the Rs 41 crore sanctioned for the scheme. The municipalities can carry out works like waste management, pre-monsoon cleaning, water conservation, afforestation etc,” said the Chief Minister.
The government also sanctioned Rs 15 crore to labourers registered under unorganized workers’ social security board. So far, Rs 27.5 crore was sanctioned.
A special financial aid of Rs 9.70 crore was sanctioned to Kerala Tailoring Workers Welfare Fund Board. Earlier, Rs 53.60 crore was sanctioned to the board, added Chief Minister.
