Thiruvananthapuram: Transport minister Antony Raju on Saturday told media persons that the protesting workers shall find a solution to the salary issue of KSRTC on their own. The government is not responsible for the crisis, he said.

The protestors led the corporation to more trouble when it was neck-deep in crisis. They did not listen to the government. They protested by neglecting the warning and how they can now ask for help, the minister said.

KSRTC management is responsible for the distribution of salary. All PSUs work like that. The government intervenes when issues worsens. The unions have the right to protest. But they announced the protest from midnight onwards without taking the government into account, the minister said.

The major unions except CITU organised strike on May 5 over delay in distribution of salary. Government assured the payment by May 10, but the unions were not ready to accept the offer.
