Thiruvananthapuram: The opposition alleged in the assembly that the government is sabotaging the investigation of Periya double murder case. The opposition alleged that by not handing over the case diary and other documents to the CBI, Crime Branch is attempting to derail the investigation. Shafi Parambil MLA issued a notice for adjournment motion to discuss the matter in the assembly.

The opposition alleged that the government wants to save the culprits, who are also CPM workers. The attempt to sabotage the investigation is with the consent of the Chief Minister. Shafi Parambil asked the CM not to try to let the criminals off the hook.

Meanwhile, Pinarayi Vijayan said that the case is not something of immediate importance. The decision to hand over the case to CBI is under the consideration of the High Court. The government appealed against the transfer of case as the government does not agree to it. The government has the right to do that, said Pinarayi Vijayan in the assembly.
