Thiruvananthapuram: Doctors in government hospitals will resort to an open protest citing unwarranted delay in meeting the promises relating to wage revision.

A demonstration of the medical professionals will be conducted on Tuesday in front of the Directorate of Health Services in Thiruvananthapuram and DEO offices in each district. The protests will be carried out without affecting the patient consultation from 2.30 pm to 4 pm.

Kerala Government Medical Officers Association (KGMOA) state president Dr GS Vijayakrishnan and general secretary Dr TN Suresh informed that all government doctors would go on mass leave on October 11, if the government continues to ignore the demands of the protesting doctors.

Though discussions were conducted in the presence of health minister in January following the doctors’ protest during that time, the promises given were not met.
