Govt conspiring to keep me in prison: K Surendran
Kozhikode: BJP state secretary K Surendran said that the government was conspiring to keep him in prison for the entire Mandala pilgrimage season.
“Pinarayi Vijayan is taking revenge on me. My rights have been violated. Police have been cruel to me,” he said while speaking to the media on way to the court in connection with two cases registered here. He alleged that local policemen tried to push him down on to the ground while being taken to court.
Although Surendran was granted bail in two cases registered here, he is yet to receive bail in the case registered at Pathanamthitta for preventing a 52-year-old woman at Sabarimala. Surendran was brought to the court around 10.30 am. As large group of mediapersons were waiting outside, police had a tough time taking Surendran inside and bringing him out of the court.
Despite allegations of not supporting Surendran, BJP state president P S Sreedharan Pillai visited him at the court. He hoped that Surendran will be granted bail soon and come out of prison. Earlier, V Muraleedharan MP had visited Surendran at the district jail.
