Thiruvananthapuram: The government has asked Adani group to expedite the Vizhinjam international seaport project. The government has promised to take action to solve issues such as unavailability of stone.
Following an evaluation meeting, minister for port Kadannappally Ramachandran clarified that the government will expedite the process of granting quarries for the project.
Meanwhile, the Adani group is firm on their stand seeking to extend the deadline of the project by at least 16 months. The demand was put forward during the evaluation meeting.
The Adani group has demanded the government to grant them 21 quarries to procure stone required for the project. However, the government has granted only one quarry so far. Adani group officials clarified that the government has taken a favourable stand regarding their demand.
