Govindan's Janakeeya Prathirodha Jadha to conclude Saturday at TVM

Thiruvananthapuram: The Jankeeya Prathirodha Jadha of MV Govindan, Kerala state secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), will conclude here on Saturday evening.

General secretary Sitaram Yechury will inaugurate the public gathering at Putharikandam Maidan at 5 in the evening. The meeting will be attended by workers from Nemom, Vattiyoorkavu, Kazhakoottam and Thiruvananthapuram constituencies.

The march began on February 20 from Kumbala in Kasaragod and arrived in the district two days ago. Throughout the march, there were five meetings held each day, and the party claims that no less than 15 lakh people participated at 135 locations.

Besides Govindan, central committee member CS Sujatha, state secretariat members PK Biju and M Swaraj, Kottayam district committee member and DYFI central committee member Jaick C Thomas and former minister and CPM fellow-traveller KT Jaleel, MLA, participated in the march.

The jadha is organised to mark CPM’s protest against the union government’s policies including "communal agenda."
