Governor welcomes resolution to call him back, asks to approach President
Thiruvananthapuram: Governor Arif Mohammed Khan responded to the resolution moved by the opposition requesting the President to call back the Governor. He said that he welcomes the demand to call him back.
“I welcome the resolution. I act in accordance to the Constitution and I am the head of the government as per the Constitution. Those who have complaints against me should approach the President. I have the right to advice and correct the government and it is my constitutional duty. Everyone has the right to express opinion. Expressing one’s opinion does not mean it is a fight with the government,” he clarified.
The Governor added that such interpretations are meaningless. He also explained what his duties and responsibilities are according to the Constitution and how the Supreme Court had interpreted the same.
