Malappuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has responded to Kerala Governor Arif Muhammad Khan’s statements against the state government.
CM said that it would be good if Governor understands that there are no Residents over the state government.
“There is a democratic set-up. Earlier, the British used to appoint Residents over the Princely States. But there are no such Residents over state government. That setup will not work in elected State Assemblies,” Pinarayi Vijayan added while addressing the constitution protection rally here.
“When Kerala Assembly unanimously passed the resolution to scrap the Citizenship Amendment Act, many had asked who gave them the authority to do so. I humbly remind them that the Assembly has the authority to do so. Please read our constitution. All your queries will be answered then,” CM mocked Governor in a veiled attack.
