
Sabarimala: Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan and his younger son Kabir Khan had darshan at Sabarimala temple on Sunday and returned on Monday after taking part in the cleaning drive ‘Punyam Poonkavanam’ on temple premises.
The governor and his son reached the temple on Sunday evening. As he was busy having darshan, he could not enjoy the beauty of the place completely. He stayed there at night. He spent the early morning watching the landscape in Poonkavanam.
The governor planted a sandal tree sapling near Manimandapam, which is a very important place in Sabarimala. Without any hesitation, Arif Mohammad Khan and son participated in the cleaning drive also. They cleaned the waste with a broom. The governor visited the office of Punyam Poonkavanam and wrote his opinion on the register.
The Travancore Devaswom Board president Adv N Vasu and others thanked the governor for his visit. Later, the governor and son returned via Swamy Ayyappan road by 9.50 am. He descended the hills by walking. Within one hour he reached Pamba and returned via Pathanamthitta by 11.30 am.
