Thiruvananthapuram: Governor Arif Mohammad Khan condemned the murder of CPM worker Haridasan in Thalassery, Kannur. Such murders affect the confidence of people, he said.

It is saddening that one lost his life. The law and order system must act proactively to ensure that such incidents do not repeat. Police must act immediately, he said. Governor added that he will respond after studying the matter in detail.

CPM worker Kuniyil Haridasan, a fishermen, was murdered on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday. He was stabbed around 20 times by the gang and one of his legs was chopped off. Though the natives rushed him to hospital, he was declared brought dead.

CPM alleged RSS of the murder.

Haridasan's mortal remains were cremated on his house premises on Monday evening.
