Thiruvananthapuram: Police department took disciplinary action against two more cops in view of their alleged mafia links. Civil police officer at Nagaroor police station Y Appu and driver Satheesh were slapped with transfer orders to Thiruvananthapuram rural AR camp after the special branch submitted a report against both of them.
Nagaroor SHO was directed to relieve the police officers from the charges of the station. Civil police officer Appu is a member of the state committee of the Police Association.
The department had earlier resorted to mass disciplinary action against the officers of Mangalapuram police station in Thiruvananthapuram. A few cops were suspended and others, except the sweeper in the station, were transferred after their connections with goonda and mining mafias surfaced.
