Gone on leave as attempts were made to suppress me: Raju Narayana Swamy
Kochi: Senior IAS officer Raju Narayana Swamy stated that he took long leave after the government transferred him from state agriculture department. He was responding to complaints raised by a committee headed by Chief Secretary. The complaint noted that Raju Narayana Swamy has taken leave of 739 days within 4 years of service.
“I was pretty good in my service as agriculture production commissioner. But I was shifted from this department to another post. I was not interested to receive salary simply by sitting in a seat without doing any job. Because of this I took long leave,” said the senior IAS official.
Agriculture minister Sunil Kumar declared that he has given best score to Raju Narayanaswamy in his confidential report by assessing the official’s best performance as agriculture production commissioner.
“I was shifted from the post of agriculture production commissioner after I raised a complaint about a fake IAS official. I still keep the same stand on this issue. The case related to this is before the court,” said Raju Narayana Swamy.
After removing him from the post of agriculture production commissioner, he was appointed in official language department.
“I felt really sad when I got appointment in official language department. Being a senior official, I hold the rank of principal secretary. Hence, I found the action as a depromotion. Because of this, I decided to take long leave and take a break from service. After taking leave, I tried to get deputation in centre. Following this, I got appointment as chairman in Coconut Development Corporation,” said Raju Narayana Swamy.
