Kochi: Customs Commissioner Sumit Kumar who is transferred to Bhiwandi in Maharashtra said that he has done everything necessary for the probe into the case related to the gold smuggling through diplomatic baggage.

'We have solved all major cases related to it,' he said. 'Only I am leaving the state. All other officers remain here. They will continue the investigation,' he added.

Sumit Kumar criticised the state government and reiterated his previous allegations. He said there were interventions by "some forces" and denied reports about the centre’s pressure.

Judicial inquiry against the Customs by the state government is a illogical move, he added. “My reporting officer is not the Chief Minister.”

Police did not act when my team was attacked, he alleged.
