Gold smuggling case: Video shot to gain trust of 'investors' trapped Ramees
Kochi: K. T. Ramees, a key conspirator in the Thiruvananthapuram gold smuggling case, shot an experimental video a few months before the smuggling began. The video was shot to earn the trust of investors. It is reported that details about the smuggling got leaked after he sent this video to a few people and that it led to his capture.
A few months before the smuggling, members of his gang in UAE shot the video of smuggling experimental luggage through diplomatic channels. Instead of gold, other objects with approximately the same weight were kept in the bag sent to Thiruvananthapuram airport as diplomatic luggage.
This bag was taken out of the airport without any trouble within an hour.
The video was shot to convince the investors that customs officers do not open this luggage. Investigation is being held regarding who shot this video at the airports.
