Thiruvananthapuram: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) brought Ramees, accused in the diplomatic baggage gold smuggling case, to various places here for evidence collection.
Ramees was taken to the flats of former IT secretary M Sivasankar and Swapna Suresh, another accused in the case and a luxury hotel in the city. Ramees was also taken to the house of Sandeep Nair, yet another accused. Evidence collection started by noon.
Ramees was brought to Sivasankar’s flat near the Secretariat, Swapna’s flat in Ambalamukku and Sandeep’s house in Nedumangad.
It is learned that the smuggling conspiracy had taken place inside the luxury hotel. At Swapna’s flat, the NIA officials checked if the security guard there could identify Ramees, who is a key accused in the case.
It was for the first time that NIA brought Ramees to Thiruvananthapuram for evidence collection. After completing evidence collection by night, the NIA team took Ramees back to the police club at Peroorkada.
