Thiruvananthapuram: NIA team has reached Secretariat in connection with the gold smuggling case investigation. It is reported that the investigation team wanted to inspect the CCTV footages of the Secretariat.

2 investigation officers and a technical expert reached the Secretariat by 11 am on Monday, with the permission of the Chief Secretary. NIA officers had inspected the Secretariat CCTV footages in the past as well.

Earlier, NIA had asked the public administration department for CCTV footages of dates between June 2019 to July 2020 for the investigation of the gold smuggling case. However, the government had told NIA that there was a technical difficulty in copying the footages.
