Gold smuggling case: ED arrests alleged kingpin Rameez, agency to seek his custody

Kochi: The Enforcement Directorate has arrested KT Rameez, the alleged kingpin in the sensational gold smuggling case of Kerala and mastermind behind various smuggling activities across the country. It is learnt that he will be produced before court soon and the agency will seek his custody.

The arrest comes at a time when the agency has been probing the black money deals associated with the case. The agency earlier had booked and chargesheeted other accused like Swapna Suresh and M Sivasankar.

Meanwhile, National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Customs had already recorded Rameez’s arrest.
