Thiruvananthapuram: The investigation into the diplomatic baggage gold smuggling case has reached M. Sivasankar, former IT secretary and former principal secretary to the chief minister.
A customs DRI team reached Sivasankar’s house in Thiruvananthapuram to present him a notice summoning the former IT secretary to the department’s office in Kochi for questioning. It is learned that Sivasankar was at home and that the customs officials left the spot within 10 minutes.
There were allegations that Sivasankar had links with Swapna Suresh. The officials came to his house as part of the investigations.
The investigation is to find out if the connection between Sivasankar and the accused was mere friendship or it had any links to gold smuggling.
