Gold smuggling case: Customs raids residences of UAE Consulate gunman
Thiruvananthapuram: The Customs on Wednesday raided the residence of Jayaghosh, the gunman of UAE Consulate attaché, in connection with the gold smuggling case. Both his residences in Vattiyoorkavu and Akkulam were raided.
Jayaghosh, who returned from hospital to his Akkulam house on Monday after an unsuccessful suicide bid, was taken to Vattiyoorkavu house by the Customs.
After inspecting the house for over 1.5 hours, Customs seized some documents including bank account details and passbooks. Simultaneously, a raid was conducted at the Akkulam house.
Customs believe, Jayagosh is also actively involved in the gold smuggling case. It is reported that he had gone to airport to receive the baggage many a times instead of key accused in the case, PS Sarith.
Jayagosh was quizzed by the Customs officials, National Investigation Agency officials and Intelligence Bureau officials in connection with the case.
