New Delhi: The supreme court will consider the petition questioning M Sivasankar’s bail along with the petition of the ED Deputy Director in connection with the gold smuggling case.
The apex court will hear the petition against the trial court’s order to examine the evidences against Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials who are investigating the gold smuggling case on September 16. The top court also decided to consider the petition of ED questioning the bail of Sivasankar along with this.
The single bench of the high court had cancelled the two cases registered by the Crime Branch against ED officials for threatening gold smuggling case accused Swapna Suresh and Sandeep Nair to give a statement against the Chief Minister.
The High Court had already permitted the trial court to review the documents and proofs collected by the Crime Branch against the ED officials. ED Deputy Director P Radhakrishnan had filed an appeal against this in the Supreme Court.
